Bookmaking in June 2018

We began our mission to free up our stash of printed papers and fabrics by making handmade books

Janet using found objects to experiment with mark making

Margaret's Gelli plate prints
(Here's one I made earlier - this beautiful piece of slashing in pa
stel colours by Margaret)

Inside view

Dina's display of arranging pieces depicting different techniques onto a backing
Hand embroidery - Ruth - tiny stitches
Sylvia arranging pages
Sylvia is holding a wonderful piece of ribbon which looks like roses
Pat enjoying a relaxing time with her watercolours
Clare busy cutting
Selecting 'pages' from old paintings - given a new lease of life as pages of a book
Lovely embroidered page Pat P
Elaine at the guillotine
Dawn makes intricate cuts for a tiny book using printed pages
Art work in sketch books
Di's printed shopping list
Elise has embroidered little gifted squares and turned them into a concertina book
It can be very therapeutic to put past work, once forgotten, to good use. New pages, lovely books, new inspiration for a new day.

Calligraphy to follow - how to and where to use it - In July

Thank you ladies,
Jude
