May meeting 2014

All of our meetings are special but today was Very Special

 "Happy Birthday Dina"

 

 

 ...and thank you to Di for a wonderful cake

 We all enjoyed it!!

There was more to celebrate...our work

Jude's "multi-coloured swop-shop" is finished

 This is Di's piece of a garden/vegetable plot on Jude's printed background. Ingenious!

 Ice is making great headway with buttonhole stitch on a block printed background. Such a lovely colour scheme

 Dina's work made a lot of progress today...and on her special day too...

 

Janet L. has used two of her "lucky dip" fabrics. One is being cut up and stitched and then appliqued in pieces onto the second background fabric

Clare is now well into the swing of the project...

...enjoying weaving techniques through the Ice fabric

Joy has used a lot of different techniques including a chiffon piece appliqued over cross stitched cords. A lot of texture is very evident 

Margaret B has the most wonderful colour palette



Pat P has mastered the Herringbone stitch to great effect

Lillian's French knots make a very pretty garden of flowers

The Ice fabric has become a trellis for the flowers
