April meeting 2015

The sunshine brought almost everyone out today.

We collected some of the Hundertwasser work together and had a wonderful time looking at them together. It will be fun to watch this colourful project develop with the addition of trees between some of the pieces.

The ABC travelling sketchbooks are in some of the pictures. We are all so proud of these and utterly thrilled with how they are developing. Ladies are so inventive and taking great pride in their work. They really are a joy to behold.

Here is Janet's sketchbook depicting C is for Corset

The work in the room continued

Jude began a new piece - the fabric is printed using a variety of techniques - the hand embroidery begins today. Ideas taken from a frottage in the sketch book

Roberta too is ready to begin a new piece with this fabric.

Debbie works on her set of cushion covers - this is the last one (apparently).

Dina twiddled...

Di managed a repair job on a bra - I think this is a first for the group!

Sylvia's Hundertwasser continues to progress.

Pat's Hundertwasser continues...

Alma is on a knitting project

Cheryl teased her fibres for embellishing on the Embellisher

March Meeting

March meeting and my thanks to Janet for stepping into the breach for me in my hour of need
I missed you all but luckily I have these lovely pictures to help
Debbie's hand embroidery - style is unmistakeable
Hundertwasser work continues from Ruth and Sylvia; well done

 Looking lovely

Only Janet would capture a picture like this needles case

It is so good to see such a variety of work. The pinafore dresses have begun for a few - I cannot wait to see them develop as it promises to be a very exciting project

Janet L has just started
Clare has painted her fabric in preparation for stitch
We then proceeded to distribute calico and tunic/dress patterns in readiness for our new project which 16 of us are going to participate in. The dresses will be complete garments or a front of a garment,  hanging on coat-hangers. The dresses will be painted/printed/stitched/embellished in a totally individual way...when complete the dresses will be in our next exhibition. Exciting times ahead!

Di has knitted these square with her oddments of wool - all for charity. Each square is a different knitted pattern and is exquisite!
Ruth and Dina share an interest in wire - not just any old wire!
